About Us

The Mustard Seed is a premier preschool and child care center located in D'Iberville, MS, that serves Harrison, Jackson, Hancock, and Stone counties. Founded in 2005, The Mustard Seed specializes in preschool and early childhood education. We offer a variety of child-oriented programs, including Christian-based, music, curriculum education (ABEKA and Frog Street), play-based learning, language development, kindergarten preparedness, and more. We strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages children to learn and grow. We prioritize individualized attention and support, and our experienced staff is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care. Our Story

At The Mustard Seed, we have been nurturing young minds since our inception on January 3, 2005. Founded by Owner Nancy Wieglosz Koon, BS, MSW, we take immense pride in creating an environment that fosters learning and growth, making us a cherished institution in D’Iberville, MS.

With a commitment to excellence, we offer a comprehensive range of programs that cater to the holistic development of children. Our dedicated team understands the importance of early childhood education and strives to create a great place for children to learn and flourish.

At the heart of our approach lies our carefully curated preschool curriculum, which forms the backbone of our educational philosophy. We believe that every child's development journey is unique, and our curriculum is designed to address various aspects of their growth, including gross motor skills, language development, cognitive milestones, numeracy skills, and kindergarten preparedness. Our emphasis on learning through play ensures that education is an enjoyable and engaging experience for every child.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in our age-based programs, catering to children of different age groups – from one to four years old. We recognize the significance of tailored education and support for each developmental stage, and our programs are structured accordingly.

In addition to our academic pursuits, we offer a Christian-based program that instills values and ethics in our young learners. This program is designed to foster a strong foundation in both education and character development.

Our physical location at 4247 Popp’s Ferry Rd in D’Iberville, MS, serves as a nurturing haven for our students. Through engaging classroom activities, we focus on nurturing social skills, fine motor skills, early literacy, arts and creativity, and cognitive development. Our aim is to prepare children for their future academic endeavors while ensuring they enjoy the journey of discovery.

We love our school! This was my daughter's first school experience after almost 3 years of staying home with me. All of the staff/teachers are so kind and caring it made the transition so easy. She loves her school and prays for all of her teachers daily. They use the brightwheel app for check in/out and daily updates including meals, activities, photos, and ability to message directly with your child's teacher. They have tumble buggy weekly among other fun activities, and teach Bible lessons as well as academic ones which is so important to us. We are so grateful for The Mustard Seed!
